Role of A Broker

One of the principal reasons for using an insurance and/or takaful broker is to obtain the benefit of that broker's professional advice and market knowledge to find suitable cost effective insurance protection

The following are some of an insurance and takaful broker’s functions:

  • His foremost duty is to protect their clients’ interest
  • He works for you to achieve your best interests – he is your partner
  • He knows the insurance market very well and he will find and negotiate with an insurer to best provide the insurance cover for you at a competitive cost
  • He will ask questions to fully understand your business and advise on those areas where insurance is required
  • He will point out the types of cover available
  • He will make sure you understand what is, and what is not covered, and how much you need to pay to cover them and any special situations you need to watch out for
  • He helps you work out what you need and find the right policy for you.
  • He handles the servicing and administration of your the insurance contracts
  • He acts as an advocate on behalf of their client with respect to issues surrounding the reporting of potential claims to the insurers, and in the settlement of claims under the insurance coverage. explain their support for you in the event of you making a claim
